In the area of health, Caritas India interventions are intended at educating and enabling access to affordable health care services to all segments of the population, especially those most vulnerable and socially excluded, in rural and urban centres. Caritas India focuses on prevention of HIV/AIDS and Malaria in high prevalence areas and at the same time, reducing impact of HIV/AIDS and Malaria. Caritas India has widened its scope of intervention in Community Health and HIV/AIDS programmes in Gujarat in partnership with National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Gujarat State AIDS Control Society (GSACS). Under the initiative, it focuses on behavioural changes among the communities, especially among the high-risk groups. The intensified Malaria Control Project-II in the North East in partnership with the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme of the Government of India is another major area of health intervention.

Additionally, Caritas India works for enabling health care access to people affected with Cancer at various stages through targeted programme outreach. It adopts the approach of sensitization on increasing lifestyle and toxic food related causes of Cancer, with continuous care and support to Cancer patients.
