Caritas India is revamping the Operational Systems

Caritas India Program and Thematic Lead from across the country assembled in New Delhi on 18-19 July 2022 to present the progress and challenges in the operational system building initiatives of Caritas India.

The Management called this special meeting to take a stock of the progress of this model and the challenges that have emerged. The plan is to propose necessary suggestions and recommendations to make this transition process to the next level.

Caritas India is running on her diamond jubilee year and with this long journey has traversed through different milestones and landmarks. At every step, it has moulded and reshaped its structure, priorities and functioning based on the social development need. The PMU structure is a recently added operational model which aims to bring a more professional approach to development programs.

The meeting was Chaired by the Executive Director, Caritas India, Fr. (Dr.) Paul Moonjely along with Assistant Executive Director, Fr. (Dr.) Jolly Puthenpura. All the PMU leads presented the achievement and plan for convergence and mainstreaming in their Program updates. The management carefully reviewed the presentations and gave relevant feedback to PMU leads for future improvements.

Fr. Paul introduced new program design commandments with the program leads for smoother functioning and leverage. He presented all the 10 points starting from the ‘Program Design’ with Key Strategic Pillars being the core with other components of Situation/analysis, Multi-focus areas, MEAL and Outcome. He has given equal emphasis to the other points including, Thematic Strategy, Theory of Change, MEAL (Data Management), Command of the program, Communication, Convergence (thematic and demographic), Stewardship (Accountability, Team, Finance), Resource Development and Donor Engagement.

Two special presentations were made on mainstreaming KSPs & Key Strategic Indicators and MEAL in the CI Programs.
