Applications invited for 51st Development Dynamics Course

Caritas India is organising 51st Development Dynamics Course (DDC) to facilitate development personnel in acquiring analytical and technical skills in development work. The course imparts in-depth field-based training covering essential technical areas. By now through DDCs, we have trained more than two thousand development professionals across India and abroad.

This year too we would urge you all to make use of the opportunity and encourage the new Diocesan Directors of Social Apostolate and other members of the congregation to attend the 18-day course. The course is being organised at DMI-St. Thomas International Centre, St. Thomas Mount, Chennai from 8th Nov 2021 to 24th Nov. 2021. If you have not attended the course yet, we request you to register and send us the filled-in forms.  In case you have attended, kindly share it with other potential people (assistant director).

Expected Outcome:

  1. Participants imbibe the spirit of Catholic Social Teaching and are equipped to put this into practice in their social apostolate.
  2. The skills of Micro Social Analysis and Macro-Economic Analysis developed with practical experience.
  3. Participants are equipped with capacities to initiate, sustain and promote empowerment of the poor and oppressed.
  4. The emerging concept of Development and various approaches are understood by the participants.
  5. The strategies for Community mobilization
  6. Awareness building skills are acquired.
  7. The value base for social transformation.
  8. Sensitivity developed for Women & Development.
  9. The concepts related to Disaster Management, Integrated Natural Resource Management, Rights-based Approaches to Development, Peace and conflict resolution and Project Cycle Management.
  10. Skills to Manage Development Organizations acquired.

Proposed Participants:

  1. Diocesan Directors of Social Works in India and abroad.
  2. Personnel of Religious Congregations engaged in Social Work,
  3. Senior Staff from Social Work Organizations from India and abroad
  4. New staff of Caritas India.

Criteria for Selection of Participants:

  1. A minimum of five years experience in social field except for the newly appointed DDSWs/ Staff of Social Service Organisations
  2. A person who is sure to continue the work after training.
  3. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension).

  1. Input Sessions with Power-Point Presentations
  2. Experiential learning
  3. Sharing of experiences and Field Exposures
  4. Structured Exercises and Case Studies
  5. Panel Discussion and Workshop

Rules to be adhered to:

  1. During training, the participants will not be allowed to leave the course and absent themselves for any period.
  2. Strict adherence to the timetable developed by the group
  3. Active participation in all the assigned activities during the course.

 

Course Donation: Total cost per person comes about Rs. 20,000.
