Caritas India works on the belief that every child has an entity and dignity of his/her own, and this right to life with dignity encompasses the right to survival (health and nutrition), development, protection and participation. Targeting the least served and unreached children population, Caritas India has programmes in the field of education for Dalit Musahar girl children in Bihar, child protection and development in West Bengal, and health in Orissa. Caritas India supports ChildLine centres in many states to help children in distress, besides having helped 38 partners develop their Child Protection Policies.
