Job Description

About the Programme:

The overall goal of the proposed ‘Khushal Bachpan: Promoting Happy Childhood’ is ‘Children in the project locations lead safe, happy and dignified childhood with enabling environment promoting easy access to their rights.’ Program revolves around children and the families. Focus of the program is to ensure rights of children through strengthening of families. Project promotes local level child ambassadors to voice the issues at the district levels. Further, the project shall organize campaigns to generate momentum around the issue of child rights and education which shall lead to proactive measures by the state to effectively implement the policies.  Project will be adopting a household intensive holistic approach and will be working in all domains of child rights including income generation activities so as to increase the livelihood income of families.

 

 

Pre-requisite for this role:

  1. This role demands the district program associate to be stationed at one of the villages where the project is being implemented. This will be the primary and mandatory condition for this role.
  2. Candidate is supposed to have a two-wheeler, should know how to drive, and should have valid two-wheeler driving licence.
  3. Candidate should know how to write reports and case studies (either in Hindi or else in English)
  4. Candidate should have knowledge and experience of developing micro proposals for individual households/Children/SHG for approvals and budgets for the same.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Project Implementation Plans (PIP’s) in close coordination with Program Associate. Ensuring timely delivery of Project plan with program quality.
  2. Develop Family Development Plan (FDP) for each household who are enrolled under the Project with the support from community educators and ensuring updation of the same on yearly basis.
  • Developing plans for business (BDP) for households and execute income generation activities making sure sustainability of the IGA implemented.
  1. Keeping a track on education status of children as well as making sure the SHG are linked with various social security schemes.
  2. Analysing existing source of income of families as well as skill set. Proposing income generation activities for the families and implementation of the same.
  3. Providing hand holding support to the community educators and develop plan for them on monthly basis and review of the same.
  • Bringing on board the Academic Mentors for the location and be successful in running academic support classes as well as playing a lead role in establishing and running child friendly libraries.
  • Keep a track on the budget for the district and ensuring quality as well as timely implementation of Project.
  1. Liasoning with district level officials and all line departments for leveraging government funds and linking families with social security schemes.
  2. Ensuring grading of Self Hep Groups and monitoring the performance of SHG’s.
  3. Coordinate and Organize trainings/capacity building and strategic guidance to community educators as per the requirement of the program.
  • Design and implementation of campaigns on child rights and thematic areas specific to district.
  • Develop systems and structures at the district level for process documentation and registration.
  • Ensure logistic support toward the trainings and other program events.
  1. Facilitate the Participatory Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of Khushaal Bachpan programme, including process documentation.
  • Participating in the cluster level, regional level meetings, workshops, reflections, for learning and incorporation of the same into operations.
  • Assist program associate to develop training modules / manuals.
  • Motivate the children and their parents/caregivers to enrol and reintegrate with the schooling system.
  • Strengthen the School Management Committees (SMC), School level committees with the participation of community and teachers mandated by the government, so that they can deal with the cases of drop out and absenteeism and quality of education.
  1. Establishment of Bal Choupals across all the villages and conducting various activities with children on Education, Life Skills, Child Participation and many more.
  • Ensuring monitoring and quality of academic support classes run under the program and tracking the progress of children.
