The programme aims at enabling food security and sustainability of livelihood for 1150 Scheduled Caste (Dalit) households in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Sagar, Madhya Pradesh

GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE : Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, covering a total of 15 panchayats (6 and 9 respectively); two blocks and thirty villages (15 each).

DEMOGRAPHIC COVERAGE : Total population of – 3033 males and 2717 females covered

Impact


Bundelkhand, UP:

  • 876 households were able to link up with the Jan Dhan Yojna and Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana
  • 561 households were covered under landless labour insurance schemes
  • 140 people secured Samajwadi pension
  • 61 people secured Old Age pension
  • 250 people secured widow pension
  • 27 households received housing assistance under Indira Awas Yojana at INR 70,000/- each
  • 60 households secured approval for toilet construction at INR 12,000 each under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
  • 320 people of six targeted Panchayats received labour cards with process facilitation by Harit Prayas team in collaboration with the Labour Department.
  • INR 1.40 million transferred to the personal bank accounts of 320 school going children in Uttar Pradesh for the purchase of bi-cycle.
    Sagar, Madhya Pradesh
  • 918 direct and 2800 indirect beneficiaries of various Government schemes (Kapil Dhara Yojana, Prasuti Sahayata Yojana, Mukhayamantri Rozgaar Yojana, Merh Bandhaan, Mukhayamantri Awas, Ladali Lakshmi Yojana, Mukhaya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana, Sukanya Yojana, Indra Awas Yojana, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Old age pension, window pension, disabled pension, MGNREGA and many other).
  • The Farmers’ Clubs met with the experts from agriculture department quarterly, learning and practicing techniques for developing organic manure.

Allahabad:

Outcome 1
Targeted 650 SC HH, land less and BPL families would be able to sustain their livelihood for up to 300 days in a year by accessing MNREGA, improved livestock management practices and Income Generation Activity through established CBOs by the EOP by end of project period.

Outcome 2
Targeted Youth (boys) will have sustainable locally available livelihood options through proper convergence with government and non-government institutions for earning such as poultry/Mason/Mobile repair

Outcome 3
Inclusive & good governance is promoted in 6 Panchayat through active participation of community and CBO members to address concerns of food security and malnourishment for targeted HH in the villages by end of the project. {In 15 new villages}

Jhansi:

Outcome 1
Targeted HHs (500 out of 974) will have adopted sustainable agriculture practices and enhanced livestock management practices thus reduced input cost and increased production by the end of 16 months

Outcome 2
Targeted Youth (adolescent boys and girls) and women will have SUSTAINABLE LOCALLY AVAILABLE livelihood options for earning and active participation in social/cultural/ sports activities by the end of the project

Outcome 3
Inclusive & good governance is promoted in 16 villages through active participation of community and CBO members to address concerns of food security and malnourishment for targeted HH in the villages by end of the project.

Sagar:

OUTCOME 1
Targeted household 500 out of 1321 deprived families enhanced income by 35% by promoting the farm based activities and getting 60 – 80 days job under MGNRGA.

OUTCOME 2
Good governance through increased community’s participation with special reference to women participation in gram sabha and 15 RTI applied for the information.
Expected change in practices and thought process (with target community):

  • Micro-plans in all the project villages been prepared and presented to gram Sabha and approved by the gram Sabha
  • 70% of community participation in PRI activities
  • All 10 Panchayats have social audit process with community and other stakeholders participation
  • All PDS shops are functioning effectively and all services are accessible to the entire target HHS
  • Target community will have knowledge of filling RTI application by the end of the project.
