Caritas India and Lanco Foundation launches PLANT A TREE CAMPAIGN 2008 during the International Conference on Climate Change from 3-4 September 2008 at IDSA, New Delhi.
A tree would be planted in the name of each and every member-participant of the conference. The campaign plans to plant around 150 trees to express its commitment to conserving nature and combat the ill effects of Global Warming and Climate Change.
The trees would be planted in St. Fidelis School, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Rev. Fr. George Paul, Principal, St. Fidelis School, has kindly consented to plant the trees in its sprawling complex. St. Fidelis School is well known for its environment consciousness and Fr. Paul is committed to see that these trees are nurtured and well taken care of.
Planting a tree is one of the cheapest and cost effective ways to combat global warming and years after we are gone, these trees would stand as legacy of our commitment to save this earth and bear witness to our next generation.
